Cyber SecurityA government-backed badge that proves the basics are covered.
Cyber Essentials is a certification scheme backed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). It sets out five straightforward technical controls that, done properly, stop the vast majority of common internet-based attacks.
It's become a genuine mark of trust — often required to win government contracts and increasingly expected by customers and supply chains. And getting it doesn't have to be painful. We do the heavy lifting, so you get the badge without the headache.
Netlogix helps businesses across the South West including Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall achieve and maintain Cyber Essentials certification.

Frequently asked questions.
We’ve put together helpful information to give you a better understanding of what Cyber Essentials is and how partnering with Netlogix makes the process simple.
-
Cyber Essentials is designed for organisations of all sizes that want to demonstrate their commitment to cybersecurity. It's particularly valuable for businesses handling sensitive data, working with larger organisations, or bidding for public sector contracts including MoD contracts.
-
Cyber Essentials helps reduce cyber risk, demonstrates good security practices to customers and suppliers, and is often required for certain contracts and tenders. It also provides a clear framework for improving your organisation's security.
-
While certification isn't a legal requirement, many organisations choose Cyber Essentials to strengthen their security posture, meet customer requirements, and gain a recognised cybersecurity certification.
-
Many government and public sector contracts require suppliers to hold Cyber Essentials certification, particularly where sensitive information is involved.
-
The timescale depends on your current systems, but most organisations can achieve certification quickly once any gaps have been addressed.
-
Cyber Essentials is a self-assessment certification that demonstrates your organisation meets the government's baseline cybersecurity requirements. Cyber Essentials Plus includes an independent technical audit and vulnerability testing to verify that the controls are working effectively in practice.
-
Cyber Essentials Plus includes a series of technical verification tests carried out by an accredited certification body. These tests validate that the security controls declared in your Cyber Essentials assessment are correctly implemented across your organisation.
-
Cyber Essentials certification fees are set by IASME and are the same regardless of which certification body you use. Costs currently range from £320 + VAT for micro businesses (0-9 employees) to £600 + VAT for large organisations (250+ employees). Additional costs may apply if remediation work is required before certification. We can assess your current environment, identify any gaps and provide a clear fixed-price quote for any support needed to achieve certification. Cyber Essentials Plus costs vary depending on the assessment scope but normally start from £1500 + VAT.
